Your metal collection, mapped

As a headbanger and product designer, I always needed to understand the full complexity of metal — its subgenres, its branches, its overlaps. Platforms like Tidal or Spotify are great for listening, but none of them let you visualize and categorize your collection by style. Metal Discovery fills that gap. It takes your playlist and organizes every band by subgenre, so you can see exactly what you listen to and discover what to explore next.

Three steps to your map

01
Connect your library
Link your Spotify account or export a CSV from any platform using TuneMyMusic.
02
We classify your bands
Each artist is analyzed via Last.fm to identify their subgenres — Death, Black, Doom, Thrash and more.
03
Explore your map
Browse your collection by subgenre, discover patterns in your taste, and play YouTube videos directly.

A personal experiment

I built Metal Discovery because I believe many metal fans share the same need — a way to make sense of a collection that spans dozens of subgenres. This is a v2 experiment, currently in validation with a small group of metalheads. If it resonates, the goal is to expand it into a genre-agnostic music discovery platform for any streaming service.
